Another Capstone Project where I put my programming skills to the test and one of the proudest works yet. I joined another second semester group, One Brain Cell Studios, and helped program various Gameplay systems and worked primarily on the A.I. in the game. The game would be a 2D Pixel Style, Hack and Slash type of game. There was a little programming already done, but most was done by the product manager and VFX Artist which were not refined work. I and another programmer refined that programming work and created the rest from scratch to produce Extrimus which is also published for all to play.
Features I personally performed include:
- A.I. ranging from programming the pathfinding, damage and health states of hostiles, creating boss mechanics such as attacking and enraging when health reaches certain states, and working with the animator adding the various creature animations.
- Assisting my fellow programmer as his field was not specially for Video Game Programming or creating various programming for game states or events.
- Helped with U.I. by showing player health and lumen levels as well as boss health and enrage bars.
- Collaborated with suggestions and ideas for various attacks and boss patterns.
- Extensive work on required bug fixes.
